How VideoFlux collects, uses, shares, retains, and protects personal data

2026/09/05

This Privacy Policy explains how VideoFlux handles personal information when you visit the website, create an account, purchase credits, or generate a video.

1. Information We Collect

  • Account data: email address, display name, avatar, verification status, and Google or GitHub OAuth profile data you choose to share.
  • Generation data: prompts, negative prompts, uploaded reference images, selected models and settings, generated videos, task status, provider safety outcomes or error information when returned, and reports concerning suspected misuse.
  • Payment data: transaction identifiers, purchased plan or credit package, amount, currency, status, and billing metadata supplied by Waffo. VideoFlux never receives or stores full card numbers.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser and device details, timestamps, request logs, referral data, and security events.
  • Cookies and local preferences: session, language, and theme information described in the Cookie Policy.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to operate and secure VideoFlux, authenticate users, process payments, submit generation jobs, store and deliver results, provide support, prevent fraud and prohibited use, investigate reports, enforce the Terms of Service, measure service performance, improve the product, comply with law, and send transactional email. Marketing messages are sent only where we have consent or another lawful basis, and you may opt out at any time.

3. Legal Basis under GDPR

For users in the EEA or UK, we process account, generation, and payment metadata to perform our contract with you; security, abuse prevention, service improvement, and analytics under our legitimate interests where permitted; legal and tax records to comply with law; and optional marketing or non-essential cookies with consent where required by applicable law. You may object to analytics or withdraw consent without affecting prior lawful processing.

4. Third-Party Processors

We share only the information needed for each processor to provide its service:

  • kie.ai routes video generation requests. Prompts and reference images are transmitted to kie.ai and its upstream model providers, which may include Google, Kuaishou, ByteDance, MiniMax, and Runway. Those providers may process inputs and outputs for generation, safety screening, abuse prevention, and enforcement under their own terms and privacy notices.
  • Cloudflare R2 stores uploaded reference images and completed generated videos.
  • Waffo processes checkout, subscription, and payment events. Its payment partners handle card details.
  • Resend delivers account and transactional email.
  • Google and GitHub, through Better Auth, provide optional OAuth authentication.
  • Google Analytics 4 measures visits, page views, approximate location, device/browser information, referral sources, and interactions so we can understand and improve the service. The Google tag uses Consent Mode on every page. Analytics storage is enabled by default when there is no saved choice and switches to denied after you reject Analytics; advertising storage remains denied.

These providers process data under their own terms and privacy notices. We may also disclose information to professional advisers, authorities when legally required, or a successor in a merger or asset sale with appropriate safeguards.

5. Content Safety Review

VideoFlux currently relies primarily on safety controls operated by kie.ai and upstream model providers; an available provider NSFW-checking option is enabled for supported models. We do not currently perform an independent automated safety scan of every prompt, uploaded image, intermediate frame, or completed video.

If content is reported, flagged by a provider, or submitted to the public gallery, authorized personnel may review the relevant content, prompts, reference media, task records, and associated account activity where reasonably necessary to investigate misuse, enforce our Terms, protect users or rights holders, or comply with law. Review information may be processed in multiple jurisdictions as described below.

6. Data Retention

Completed generated video files are stored for no more than 30 days on every plan and are then automatically removed from active server storage. The related task metadata may remain in account history after the video file expires. After account deletion, associated reference images are scheduled for deletion within 30 days, subject to backup cycles and legal holds. Prompts and abuse-prevention records may be retained as necessary to investigate misuse. Payment and tax records are generally retained for seven years. Security logs are kept only as long as reasonably necessary.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or export, object to processing, and withdraw consent. EU and UK users have rights under the GDPR and may complain to their supervisory authority. California residents may exercise CCPA rights to know, correct, delete, and opt out of sale or sharing; VideoFlux does not sell personal information. We may verify identity before completing a request.

8. International Transfers

VideoFlux and its providers may process data in multiple jurisdictions. Where required, transfers rely on adequacy decisions, Standard Contractual Clauses, or another lawful transfer mechanism, together with appropriate technical and organizational safeguards.

9. Security

We use TLS in transit, encryption at rest where supported, least-privilege access controls, authentication safeguards, secret management, and operational monitoring. No internet service is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Contact us immediately if you believe your account or data has been compromised.

10. Children

VideoFlux is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. A higher minimum age may apply in some regions. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it.

11. Cookies

We use essential session cookies, the NEXT_LOCALE language cookie, and a theme preference. Google Analytics storage is enabled by default until you reject Analytics. Other optional functional and advertising integrations remain blocked until you allow the relevant category. You can change your choice through Privacy choices in the footer. See the Cookie Policy for details and browser controls.

12. Changes

We may update this policy as the product, providers, or law changes. Material changes will be announced by email or an in-product notice, and the effective date above will be updated.

13. Contact

To ask a privacy question or exercise a data right, email [email protected]. We aim to acknowledge verified rights requests within the period required by applicable law.
