The cookies and local preferences used by VideoFlux
2026/09/08
This policy describes the small files and browser storage VideoFlux uses. Necessary storage supports security and features you request. Google Analytics storage is enabled by default until you reject Analytics. Other optional functional or advertising services load only after you allow the relevant category.
| Cookie or storage | Purpose | Category | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Better Auth session cookie | Keeps you securely signed in and helps prevent account abuse | Strictly necessary | Session or configured account-session period |
NEXT_LOCALE | Remembers the language you selected | Functional | Up to 1 year |
| Theme preference | Remembers light, dark, or system appearance | Functional local storage/cookie | Until removed |
videoflux-privacy-consent | Records your privacy choices so we can respect them | Strictly necessary local storage | Up to 180 days |
videoflux-registration-source | Remembers the first landing path, referring site and UTM campaign tags after you allow Analytics, then associates them with a newly created account for administrator reporting | Analytics | Up to 30 days; removed when Analytics is rejected |
Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_<container-id>) | Distinguishes visits and measures page usage unless you reject Analytics | Analytics | Up to 2 years |
Microsoft Clarity (_clck, _clsk, and Microsoft-domain cookies) | Connects page views and interactions for heatmaps, diagnostics, and session recordings unless you reject Analytics | Analytics | Session-based or provider-configured persistence |
Authentication may also set short-lived security or OAuth state cookies during sign-in. Waffo, Google, or GitHub may set cookies on their own domains when you choose checkout or OAuth; their privacy and cookie policies govern those cookies.
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the Better Auth session cookie will prevent sign-in and access to generation history. Removing locale or theme preferences only resets those choices.
When optional services are configured, use Privacy choices in the site footer to allow, reject, or change categories at any time. Withdrawing consent blocks those services on the next page load. Deleting the consent record causes the site to ask again when optional services are available.
VideoFlux does not currently enable advertising cookies or sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity are our analytics providers. Like GA4, Clarity loads by default with a Consent V2 signal (advertising storage denied) and stops after you reject Analytics. Selecting Reject optional withdraws Analytics consent and keeps it denied on future pages until you change the choice through Privacy choices in the footer.
We may update this policy when storage practices change. Questions may be sent to [email protected].
